Robert Moses vs. Jane Jacobs

Robert Moses' works are now in exhibition in NYC where Columbia historian Kenneth Jackson, author of a famous history book of American suburban development, "Crabgrass Frontier," presuades people to rethink Moses as a far-sighted visionary rather than ruthless urban bulldozer. In line with this event, classic icons of American city building debate - Robert Moses and Jane Jacobs - are examined by Neil Smith and his companion. Their thesis may be the past thing, but Smith renews their contemporary meanings as new libral thought and globalism are increasingly palpable in recent, aggressive rebuiding projects in NYC as well as other global big cities.
